👋 Madalyn here with a recommendation for a La Cantera-area coffee shop that I stumbled upon earlier this week.
Catch up quick:Thirty Grind opened last fall in the collection of shops and apartments near Eilan Hotel and Spa.
The vibe: I was scouting for sustenance after a long morning at the Spurs' media day and struck gold.
It's a quiet, intimate space with enough room to spread out and get work done.
What to try: The pumpkin tiramisu latte ($7.75) with a breakfast burrito ($10.50).
The coffee is a seasonal take on the shop's tiramisu latte. I ordered it with almond milk.
Every sip felt indulgent, like enjoying a dessert in a cup with a cozy autumn twist. It's topped with a cookie that looks like a lady finger that was perfect for dipping.
The breakfast burrito is generously stuffed with fluffy eggs, juicy country sausage and cheese. It tasted like something from my mom's kitchen. The salsa gave it the perfect kick.
The bottom line: I wish I lived closer so I could make Thirty Grind part of my weekly sweet treat outing.
