S.A. snapshots: Kaleidoscope of colors

👋 Hey there! It's Madalyn, sharing one of my favorite shots from First Friday this month.

The vibe: While exploring the many studios at Brick at Blue Star, we discovered Carolina Flores' studio — a vibrant space that felt like stepping into a canvas of childhood memories.

• Flores paints family gatherings, Texas highways, religious figures and lots of flowers.

Zoom in: This piece, titled "Escaramuza," captures the charreada sport where women ride sidesaddle, evoking the spirit of Fiesta.

• The Pioneer building glowing through the window added an extra touch of magic to the scene.

What's next: Flores is featured in "Al Otro Lado del Espejo," a project with an exhibit and a four-part KLRN documentary exploring the blended cultures of San Antonio and Querétaro, Mexico.
