Residents choose unofficial name for San Antonio-Austin area

In our latest poll, we decided to get ahead of the curve by brainstorming potential names for the San Antonio-Austin metroplex that experts say is on the horizon.

Catch up quick: We suggested South Central Metroplex, San Austin, Austonio and the S-ATX Axis.

The winner: South Central Metroplex with 45% of your votes.

The runner up: About 18% of you thought San Austin would be a fitting name.

What they said: Reader suggestions included "Centroplex" from Patrick S. and "S-A Megaplex" from Ronnie H.
