Details for Kimpton Santo Hotel, located on South Alamo Street between Southtown and downtown, are firming up.
The latest: White Lodging, which operates the luxe chain of Kimpton hotels, announced San Antonio's first location — the largest in Texas — is opening in late August.
- The boutique hotel will be a luxury lodging option. Four elevated food and drink concepts will create a new culinary destination for visitors and residents.
Dig in: Dean's Steak and Seafood will feature a two-level dining room with 207 seats. It'll have an oyster bar and private wine room, all led by executive chef Robert Garcia, who previously worked at J-Prime and Bohanan's Prime Steaks and Seafood.
- The Bar at Dean's will have a "Dean's List" with rare, off-the-menu bourbon and vintage wine.
- The Study at Dean's is an intimate cocktail bar with an elevated drink menu and small plates like caviar, Wagyu tartare and smoked salmon tartlets.
- Tenfold Rooftop is billed as having the tallest bar views of downtown. It will serve playful cocktails emphasizing tequila and mezcal, plus beer and wine. Guests can also embark on the "10x tour," which will offer 10 chef-selected dishes from around the world.
By the numbers: Nightly rates listed on the website start around $300 for October dates.
