Spurs fans to gather for annual float trip on the Comal River

Spurs Twitter, one of the most hyped up circles of the local fandom, will go offline for a day and connect with fellow fans on the Comal River.

What's happening: Dakota Mitchell, a Spurs diehard, is hosting a float trip for fellow fans on June 24. It'll be the third installment of the growing tradition.

How it works: Mitchell will park his van at the basketball courts at Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels for a 10:30am meet up.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own drinks in reusable containers, tubes, and cash for the river access fee.
He expects the float to start at 11:30am.

What they're saying: "I think that the city is super excited about the Spurs in general, and basketball fever has taken over the summer. With winning the lottery and Wemby en route, plus (The Rock) opening at The Rim, we have a lot to celebrate," Mitchell says.
