Chada's flower-shaped dumplings taste as good as they look

I can't stop telling people about the gorgeous — and delicious — purple flower-shaped dumplings at Chada, a new Thai spot in Mid-City.
Why it matters: They are on the restaurant's Coolinary menu for brunch ($30) and lunch ($25).
The big picture: The warm dumplings ($15 à la carte) are a showstopper and nail the very hard goal of tasting as good as they look.
- They are filled with pork and peanuts and drizzled with coconut milk. The server told us to wrap each dumpling in lettuce and then eat it.
- The dumpling was chewy (but not gummy or sticky) with a nice crunch from the lettuce and the peanuts. A joy to eat.
- The meal continued with beautiful drinks (with and without alcohol) and tasty entrees. We also loved the green papaya salad.
Zoom out: Chada is from the family behind Dahla in the CBD, which was Thai Ocha in its previous incarnation in Metairie.
- Thai Ocha was my go-to spot, and I'm thrilled the tom kha is just as good as I remember.
- Chada's renovated space, designed by Studio West, is stunning too, especially the back dining area.
