Drought conditions worsen in Louisiana

Drought conditions continue to spread in Louisiana.

• Nearly 79% of the state is in a drought, with another 10% abnormally dry, according to data yesterday from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
• Orleans and Jefferson parishes are in a severe drought. The city is 4.5 inches of rain below normal for the year, NWS says.
