Three new stores are on the way to Lakeside Shopping Center.
Why it matters: The Metairie mall continues to buck the trend of struggling shopping destinations.
The big picture: Lakeside turned 65 last year, and a spokesperson says it is Louisiana's largest mall, with 100-plus stores.
- It draws shoppers from as far as 60 miles away, compared with the usual 25-mile radius of super-regional malls, according to information from the Feil Organization, which owns Lakeside.

- Coach
- Garage

Opening soon
- Chicken Salad Chick will open in the food court in Subway's old location.
- Aritzia, a women's clothing brand, will open across from Kendra Scott.
- Gorjana, a jewelry brand, will open next to Café du Monde.
- Clarks, a shoe company, will open in the Pottery Barn wing.
Expanded or renovating
- Foot Locker is expanding by 70%.
- Zumiez is renovating and will move into part of The Royal Standard and The Engraving Co.'s former locations.
- The Engraving Co. moved to the P.F. Chang's wing.
- The Royal Standard reopened next to Restoration Hardware.
- Apple and Lululemon recently expanded, Feil says.
