The green anoles are back to play. We're seeing more every day on fences and plants.
Interesting tidbit: Green anoles are the only native anoles to North America.
And, they are in a battle royale with their non-native cousin, the brown anole, according to Elise Plunk at the Louisiana Illuminator.
"The brown anoles are much more aggressive than the greens," she writes. "They outcompete green anoles for food on the ground, fight even harder for territory and have even been known to prey on green anoles."
