Anthony Mackie celebrated his new movie,"Captain America: Brave New World," over the weekend in his hometown.
Mackie's voice hitched as he talked about his childhood, crediting his brothers with always being his superheroes. "This is for them," he told the audience at the Friday premiere at AMC Elmwood Palace.
One of his brothers, Calvin Mackie, runs the nonprofit STEM NOLA, and the audience was filled with its students, staff and other New Orleans notables.
He surprised another theater and passed out roses for Valentine's Day.
Zoom out: The Marvel movie was No. 1 at the box office and is expected to gross $100 million during opening weekend, CNN reports.
