Louisiana had one of the country's biggest increases in data center employment between the first quarters of 2018 and 2024, per the U.S. Census Bureau's Quarterly Workforce Indicators.
What's next: Meta, owner of Facebook and Instagram, is building its largest data center ever in north Louisiana.
The $10 billion project is one of the state's largest private capital investments, according to Louisiana Economic Development. It's expected to create at least 500 direct jobs.
