Willie Mae's is back with its famous fried chicken more than a year after a fire closed the Treme restaurant.
Why it matters: It's one of nearly 20 restaurants that have opened or closed in recent weeks in New Orleans metro.
The big picture: The new iteration of Willie Mae's is now open downtown at 898 Baronne Street. Make reservations.
- The owners tell The Times-Picayune that they are working to reopen the original Willie Mae's Scotch House in Treme, but it will likely take another year.
