Axios New Orleans won second place in the Press Club of New Orleans' 66th annual awards competition.
The big picture: The contest honors the best of journalism and public relations in New Orleans.
- Axios placed for best news website at the gala, held Saturday at The Cannery in Mid-City. WWLTV.com took home first.
- Eleven press clubs from around the country judged the entries in dozens of categories.
Zoom out: WWL's Eric Paulsen and WDSU's Ro Brown were honored with lifetime achievement awards.
- David Bernard, the former chief meteorologist at Fox 8, was the emcee for the evening.
