How to celebrate National Pimm's Cup Day in New Orleans

The big picture: The Pimm's Cup is a highball made with the spicy-sweet British liqueur Pimm's No. 1 and a splash of 7UP and is served with a cucumber slice.

• The Napoleon House says it was the first establishment to sell Pimm's Cups in the U.S.
• They are popular in England, which is where Napoleon House founder Joe Impastato tried it, the restaurant says. He started serving it at the Napoleon House in 1914.

Fun fact: Napoleon House is the world's No. 2 seller of Pimm's Cups, only behind the London bar that created the low-alcohol cocktail, according to the Ralph Brennan Group, which owns the French Quarter restaurant.

The intrigue: The Napoleon House is hosting a party Monday with Napoleon Bonaparte (wink wink).

• There will be a Champagne sabering at 11am following by a toast.
• The restaurant is unveiling a frozen Pimm's version too.
• They'll be doing Pimm's Cup flights for $20 that include the original, the Englishman's and the watermelon version. A free sample of the frozen Pimm's comes with every flight on Monday.
