They are:

• Harlequin Theatre, 1031 N. Claiborne Ave.
• DeGaulle Manor, 3010 Sandra Drive.
• Canal Street Hotel, 1630 Canal St.
• 6700 Plaza Drive.
• 5501 -5585 Bundy Road.
• Washington Gardens Apartments, 2119 Washington Ave.
• Orwood Creek Apartments, 10151 Curran Blvd.
• State Palace Theatre, 1108 Canal St.
• 2025 Canal Street / 115 N. Prieur St.
• Parc Fontaine Apartments, 3101 Rue Parc Fontaine.

What she's saying: "It is my hope that by identifying and focusing on these properties, it will aid in reducing crime and attracting investors to revitalize these spaces to bring it back into functioning commerce," Cantrell said.

What's next: Several of the buildings, including Plaza Tower, are in litigation, according to Anthony Davis, the city's new director of code enforcement.

• The city is making demolition preparations for Plaza Tower so crews are ready to go if needed when litigation wraps, Davis said.
• The department averages four to five demolitions per week, he said.
