Station 6 is known for fresh seafood in Metairie's Bucktown neighborhood, but it was dessert that knocked my socks off at this lakefront restaurant.
What I ordered: Chocolate peanut butter doberge cake ($12) with ganache and fresh whip cream.
- The slice is huge and can easily be shared. Our server said some regulars sit at the bar and have it as their meal. Now that's living life.
Worth noting: The night I was there, the special was speckled trout with the silkiest sweet potato puree I've had in a while.
Be smart: The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining, and you can dress up or down. It's popular for dates, family meals and friend outings.
Zoom out: Station 6 changed hands this year and is now owned by chef Aaron Burgau and managing partner John Michael Rowland.
