Pigeon & Whale opened over the summer on Freret Street and focuses on seafood with all the nautical vibes.
- And while their oysters were delicious, I was after the adorably kitschy dessert called Bathtub Dreams.
What I ordered: Bathtub Dreams ($11) is a chocolate hazelnut mousse with brownie crumbs, topped with whip and served with a whale-tail-shaped cookie and chocolate rubber ducky.
- It's presented in a pink ceramic clawfoot bathtub perfect for Barbie.
- The dessert was fun, tasty and big enough to share.
Worth noting: Pigeon & Whale leans into a seaworthy theme with bare-breasted mermaids for door handles, shell-shaped water pitchers and cocktail ice stamped with nautical shapes.
- Our group also enjoyed the squid ink pasta, grilled octopus and the shucker's choice selection of oysters mainly from the Northeast.
