Many Miami restaurants closed in 2024. These hurt the most

Here's a few that bummed us out:

Paradis Books and Bread, the beloved cafe and wine bar, announced it was closing at the start of 2024. (Sommer never recovered.)

• Luckily, four.miami, a new pop-up serving coffee, pastries, breads and pizza, opened in December, nearly a year later.

Shuckers Waterfront Bar & Grill, the laid-back waterfront restaurant that anchored North Bay Village for 30 years, announced in June it would close at the end of the year.

• In its place is now Palm Tree Club, an upscale hotel, dining and event space that's already upsetting its new neighbors.

Jaguar Sun, which became a favorite for its intimate space, Parker Rolls, pastas and innovative cocktails, closed in August after six years so its owners could focus on Sunny's Steakhouse.

Perricone's Marketplace & Café closed in May after serving Miami for nearly three decades.

Leku, the upscale Spanish restaurant at the Rubell Museum, closed in June after four years.

Old Greg's, the beloved pizzeria that took off during the pandemic and opened shop in the Design District, closed in August.

• At the time, the owners said they planned to open a new location, but no details were offered.
