The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is revving up a big weekend of fall racing with a battle of endurance and skill.
Driving the news: The Tirerack.com Battle on the Bricks returns to IMS, giving race fans a high-speed showdown that looks a little different than that big race that rolls around each May.
- Unlike the uniform fleet of IndyCars that hit the track for the Indianapolis 500, the 2026 Battle on the Bricks is an International Motor Sports Association event that blends 18 different manufacturers across four different vehicle classes.
- That means souped up versions of the rides you see sitting in the grocery store parking lot will run against exotic and futuristic prototypes.
The intrigue: The main event is a 2 hour, 40 minute sprint race on Sunday crafted to test even the toughest drivers.
If you go: Battle on the Bricks runs Friday through Sunday at IMS. Gates open at 8am Friday for practice, 7:30am Saturday for qualifiers and 8:30am Sunday for race day.

💃 Commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month with food, music, dancing and cultural programming at La Plaza's 44th annual FIESTA event.
- Free, 12-7pm Saturday.
🍛 Spend your weekend sampling Middle Eastern food and sweets while taking in live music, dancing and church tours during the St. George Middle Eastern Festival in Fishers.
