Niyyah Coffee opening Mass Ave location

Niyyah Coffee is about to open its fourth location in the Indianapolis area.

Why it matters: The coffee shop will occupy prime real estate on one of the city's busiest pedestrian corridors. And, the founders say, it will be the city's first deaf-owned coffee shop.

Driving the brews: Talha Tufail is opening Niyyah in the space vacated by Peace Water Winery at the corner of Mass and College avenues.

Niyyah, which means "intention" in Arabic, was started by his brother and sister-in-law, Shamyl and Torrie Tufail.
What started as a coffee cart opened as a brick-and-mortar cafe in 2023 in Fishers' Hub & Spoke building and has since expanded to McCordsville and Broad Ripple. There is also a location in Ontario, Canada.

Zoom in: Niyyah's signature drink is the zebra mocha — a mix of white and dark chocolate.

Menus at their other locations feature a wide variety of espresso- and matcha-based drinks, plus pastries.

What's next: Niyyah hasn't announced an opening date for the downtown shop, at 747 N. College Ave., but said it will be coming soon and recent social media videos look like the interior is pretty darn close.
