Our good friend Travis Meier with Axios Kansas City recently went through a Midwest rite of passage — hitting a hole in the road and getting a flat.
Why it matters: It's something we know about all too well in Indy where potholes reign supreme.
Yes, but: Do you know how to change a tire? While we're in pothole season, Travis is taking it back to driving 101 and walking us through how to fix a flat.
Be smart: Check in advance that your car has the right stuff. You should have a spare wheel and tire, a lug nut wrench, and a jack with a detachable handle.
If you get a flat on the road, try to pull off somewhere safe. If you need to park on the shoulder, turn on your hazard lights.
