St. Patrick's Day is seven days away.
Yes, but: Indianapolis isn't waiting until next week to get the party started!
- Here are a few ways to celebrate this year in the Circle City.
🍀 The action starts downtown with the free Hoosier Lottery St. Patrick's Day Kickoff Celebration, 5pm Thursday at the Ohio Street Canal Basin.
- Witness the 30th greening of the downtown canal, hear from Indy's 2026 Irish Citizen of the Year, dance to live music and fill up on grub at food trucks.
- The event can also be livestreamed on the Hoosier Lottery Facebook page and the Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Celebration Facebook page.
🥁 Head back downtown Friday for the 44th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
- Programming starts at 10am with a block party. More food trucks, beer, music and a heated tent will be available.
- The parade starts at North Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania at 11:30am. The full route and lineup can be found at this link.
- Both events are free and open to the public.
🏃 Burn off everything you ate and drank the previous two days during Saturday's 33nd Annual Shamrock Run and Walk.
- The 5K run starts at 11am at the IFD Union Hall, 748 Mass Ave.
- Individual registration is $37; family registration is $34 per person.
- The registration deadline is 11:59pm Friday.
🐶 If you prefer to run with a pooch, check out the Lucky Dog 5K at 9am Saturday in Military Park.
- Registration starts at $47, with proceeds going to support local animal shelters.
🍺 If you prefer to run with a brew, Military Park will also host the 21-plus Shamrock Beer Run 5K & BrewFest.
- The event opens at 11:30am Saturday, and staggered 5K waves start at 1:30pm.
- Pricing starts at $15 for those who just want to go to the BrewFest, and $46 for the 5K.
🎵 Looking to party all weekend long? Broad Ripple is throwing a two-day bash at The Quarter. The St. Patrick's Day Tent Party runs from 3pm–midnight Friday and Saturday.
- Tickets start at $10.
🎸 The Rathskeller will present a full day of Irish food and live music when St. Patrick's Day official arrives Tuesday.
- Four bands will take the stage from noon to 9:30pm. Free admission.
