Meet Andrew Young, an Indianapolis singer-songwriter who has been rocking the stage since the days of "Star Search."

The inspo: Drawing inspiration from classic soul and modern R&B, Young got his first major exposure in 1989 when he became a returning "Star Search" champion.

He soon shared stages with superstars like Babyface, Vanessa Williams, LL Cool J and Brian McKnight.
His entertainment career includes acting, commercial spots, voiceover work and a regional TV show on the WB Network called "Andrew Young Live."

Zoom in: Young's Spotify discography contains four full albums, including a greatest hits collection called "Andrew Young Evolution" that recaps his creative path from 1989 to 2017.

He scored Grammy consideration in 2023 and 2024 for his singles "I Don't Like Him," "Outside" and "Love Language."

What he's making now: A stop at an Indianapolis stage Friday night.

The Andrew Young Band is performing at That Place Bar & Grill at 10pm.
