Meet the Maker: 2025 DeHaan Artists of Distinction

• The 2025 winners chosen by a panel of visual art professionals were announced last week.
• Their final projects will be shown later this year during a special exhibition at Gallery 924.

Aaron S. Coleman

• A multi-disciplinary artist and Herron School of Art and Design associate professor whose work in printmaking, sculpture and installation has been recognized nationwide.

Eli Craven

• A photographer and associate professor at Purdue University who researches the relationship of images to ideologies of sexuality, desire and death.

Bryn Jackson

• An Indianapolis-based artist, curator and cultural advisor whose practice centers on ecological justice and institutional accountability.

Emily Clark Zarse

• A Bloomington artist who works with textile-based sculptures, installation and textile paintings to explore how softness can hold weight.

What's next: Applications for the 2026 DeHaan Artist of Distinction Awards are open now.

• The first round of applications will be accepted through May 3 and a second round runs through Oct. 18.
• Applicants can submit an application in either or both rounds.
