Indy's premiere mash up of live music and philanthropy will turn up the volume Friday night in Fountain Square.
Driving the news: The 24th Tonic Ball will see more than 50 local artists pay tribute to music icons across five stages in support of Second Helpings, a Central Indiana nonprofit that works to fight hunger.
Why it matters: Organizers say the purchase of a single Tonic Ball ticket can cover the cost of 44 meals.
Zoom in: Four major music names representing different genres and eras will be honored at this year's ball.
- A stage celebrating the work of Marvin Gaye will be set up at Square Cat Vinyl.
- The Green Day stage will rock out at HI-FI.
- A tribute to The B-52s will go down at Radio Radio.
- Britney Spears songs will blast from the speakers at White Rabbit Cabaret.
- Plus: A greatest hits stage featuring songs from all four artists will be set up inside Fountain Square Theatre.
