If spooky egg hunts, fall craft making and seasonal ciders sound like a good time, Broad Ripple is the place to be this weekend.
Driving the news: A flurry of fall festivals is hitting the neighborhood, starting with Indy Parks and Recreation's youth-focused Halloween Moonlight Egg Hunt at Broad Ripple Park.
- It starts at 7pm Friday and features prizes, games, crafts and a spooky egg hunt. Registration is $11.
- The fun continues Saturday with the free Locally Made: Indy's Fall Fest from noon-5pm at ARTSPARK, Indy Art Center's outdoor campus at the intersection of the White River and the Monon Trail.
- Browse artwork, wares and artisanal goods from more than 50 creators, and make your own masterpiece (or just paint a pumpkin) during hands-on art activities.
- At the same time and place as the fall fest, Ash & Elm Cider Co. is hosting the fourth annual Autumntidings Fall Fest to serve fall-forward brews from around the state. Admission starts at $24. Kids and nondrinkers get in free.
Plus: If that wasn't enough action for Broad Ripple, Indy CD & Vinyl will celebrate its grand re-opening Saturday and Sunday at its long-standing location on Broad Ripple Avenue.
- The free event will bring the official unveiling of "The 808," a new all-ages community stage and event space next door. Expect live music, DJs, store specials and tours of the new venue.
