👋 Arika here!
A new Mexican restaurant is bringing drama to Mass Ave-area dining.
Driving the news: Piedra opened in the latest phase of the Bottleworks district last week.
The upscale Mexican steakhouse is full of flavor and flair and serving brunch, lunch and dinner.
The vibe: Piedra has soaring ceilings, chandeliers, stone sculptures and large tiled pillars, lanterns and a mezzanine that makes the bar area feel almost like an outdoor courtyard.
The menu: Mexican classics, elevated appetizers, steaks and tacos.
There's also a small brunch and lunch menu, available daily from 11am to 3pm.
Yes, but: The main menu is where it's at, IMO.

💠My thought bubble: I was pleasantly surprised to see cauliflower tacos on the menu and stayed that way after they were served.
Flavorful, deeply roasted cauliflower is stuffed into corn tortillas and topped with pineapple and red onion.
While the tacos were hearty and delicious, the rice and beans make or break a Mexican restaurant for me — fancy or otherwise.
Piedra's poblano rice is a star and the refried beans are silky and so good I'm not sure I even want to know the secret.
If you go: 820 Mass Ave, though the entrance faces College Ave.
Open daily at 11am, until 10pm Monday–Thursday, midnight Friday, 1am Saturday and 9pm Sunday.
