Driving the news: Vance met with Braun, House Speaker Todd Huston and Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray for about an hour at the Statehouse.
What they're saying: Braun told reporters the meeting was "pretty good" and said, "we listened."
Vance did not take questions from reporters when he walked by.
The intrigue: Bray and Huston released statements afterward, but neither mentioned redistricting.
"We had a meaningful discussion, heard the vice president's perspective on a number of topics, and will continue conversations as we work to advance Indiana and deliver results for Hoosiers," Huston said.
"I appreciated the opportunity to hear from the Vice President on a variety of issues, which we will continue to talk through in the days ahead," Bray said.
The other side: U.S. Reps. André Carson and Frank Mrvan — Indiana's two Democratic congressmen — joined protestors at the Statehouse to criticize the redistricting effort.
"They are afraid of checks and balances, and they are afraid that they know that their policies have hurt individuals," Mrvan said, per Indiana Capital Chronicle.
Between the lines: Mrvan's district in Northwest Indiana would be the most vulnerable for Democrats. He won with about 53% in 2022 and 2024.
