Driving the news: As collector of the most All-Star fan votes, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was named a team captain alongside Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx.

• The captains picked their teams — and traded head coaches — Tuesday night on a special edition of WNBA Countdown on ESPN.

The intrigue: Also slated to start is Clark herself, but how long she'll play on her homecourt remains in question after missing five games with a left groin injury suffered in late June.
