Indiana to stop printing paper state park maps

• Marty Benson said DNR spends more than $110,000 annually on the maps.
• DNR just ordered a new supply of maps, but won't be ordering more, Benson said, instead putting the cost savings toward park operation.

Between the lines: Benson said the change is not related to state budget cuts, which recently caused layoffs at other state agencies.

What they're saying: "We anticipate we'll have sufficient maps for this year's recreation season," Benson said. "When we run through this current supply, we'll transition to a paperless system for maps."
