The Indiana Fever's 2025 WNBA Draft started with them calling the name of this Florida State standout from Edison, Georgia.
🏀 #21 Makayla Timpson: Forward-center
- Timpson, a three-time member of the ACC All-Defensive Team, was selected by the Fever with the 19th overall pick.
- She ranked third in the country for blocks per game during her final season at FSU.
- With roster cuts complete, Timpson is the only remaining rookie on the Fever this year.
Fun fact: Timpson closed her career as a Seminole by breaking records for rebounds and double-doubles set by Fever teammate and fellow newcomer, Natasha Howard.
- The players have a close connection, and Howard considers Timpson a younger version of herself.
What she's saying: "It was totally unexpected," Timpson said of hearing her name called by the Fever on draft night. "I've just been taking my time. Walking and exploring (the city) a little bit. But not doing too much."
