One of the best parts of the WWE Royal Rumble is guessing who the next person coming to the ring will be when the 90-second timer counts down.
Why it matters: Sometimes the superstar coming through the curtain is not from the world of pro wrestling.
- Over the years, celebrities like Drew Carey, Bad Bunny and Johnny Knoxville have all tried to shock the world by winning the Rumble.
Zoom in: With that in mind, here is a list of celebs with Indy ties who could send the crowd into a frenzy if they happen to hit the ring Saturday night.
Tyrese Haliburton
- Honestly, I'll be shocked if Haliburton DOESN'T enter the event. He has been teasing it for months and has been in a WWE ring multiple times. He even has his own WWE merch.
- Trust me, "Tyrese 3:17" will make his Royal Rumble debut this weekend.
Pat McAfee
- Same as Haliburton, this is a no-brainer. McAfee is already a member of the WWE roster with Rumble experience and will be doing commentary at Lucas Oil. He entered the 2024 Rumble from the commentary desk before eliminating himself in just 38 seconds out of (understandable) fear.
Caitlin Clark
- She hoops. She golfs. So why can't she wrestle? The Indiana Fever superstar would get fans buzzing, and after a physical rookie season, she's likely more than ready to throw some bows in a WWE ring.
Leketor Member-Meneh
- The Indy Ignite are the city's hottest new pro sports team, and there are few players better than the squad's star outside hitter — who stands alongside PVF league leaders in efficiency, kills, digs, aces and points — who could hit the ring and represent.
Mayor Joe Hogsett
- OK, now it's time to get weird with the picks. Hogsett has openly talked about his love for pro wrestling and his desire to bring a WrestleMania back to the city for years, so what better way to celebrate Indy and WWE's new partnership than mixing it up?
Mike Epps
- Whenever Indy throws a party, Epps is around to celebrate. The comedian also kicks off his "We Them Ones" comedy tour on Sunday at Gainbridge, so you know he's around here somewhere.
Peyton Manning
- The guy has a statue of himself outside the venue, so I'm sure they'll let him in. Plus, Manning pulling up to Rumble would make up for him missing the NBA All-Star game in Indy last February after being one of the advertised celebrities.
