Notre Dame vs. IU is the hottest CFP ticket

Indiana's biggest college football game between the state's two best teams goes down this week in South Bend.

Why it matters: When it comes to the first round of the highly anticipated 2024 College Football Playoffs, it's also the hottest ticket in the nation.

Driving the news: According to Vivid Seats, Friday's showdown between the No. 7 Fighting Irish and the No. 10 Hoosiers has an average sold ticket price of $707.

That's more than the $495 people are paying for Clemson vs. Texas; $370 paid for Tennessee vs. Ohio State; and $234 paid for SMU vs. Penn State.

Zoom in: The in-state matchup is also inspiring more sports fans to hit the road. Vivid Seats says people going to Notre Dame Stadium this weekend will travel 363 miles on average.

What's next: Kickoff is at 8pm Friday on ABC and ESPN.
