Central Indiana's freshest events venue is making its debut this weekend with a little help from a country band that hails from Oklahoma.
What's happening: The Fishers Event Center officially opens Friday, bringing a new 7,500-seat facility poised to host more than 125 events in 2025 to Hamilton County.
- Officials say it's the largest midsize event center in the region.
- It's also the new home of the Indy Fuel hockey team. The team's home opener is Dec. 6.
- The Indy Ignite volleyball team and the Fishers Freight indoor football team will also play there.
Driving the news: The venue's first event is a concert headlined by the Turnpike Troubadours.
- Trampled by Turtles and Tyler Halverson are the opening acts.
