Irvington's newest happy hour is at Sahm's Tavern

• We were doing our journalistic duty and checking out Irvington's newest happy hour.

Drink up quick: Sahm's Tavern is the latest opening from the Sahm's Hospitality Group, which opened its first restaurant in Fishers nearly four decades ago.

• They're the folks behind Sahm's Place, Big Lug, Half Liter, The Roost (and others).
• The tavern, which took over the space vacated by Scarlet Lane Brewing, is their first sports bar.

The im-vibe: TVs on TVs. It is a sports bar, after all.

Driving the brews: Happy hour runs every day from 3-5pm.

• The best deal is on their beer. Get a pint of any of Big Lug's four staples — Goat Ranch lager, Honest Weight IPA, Pirate Cat porter or Topanga pale ale — for $3.
• Other deals include $3 domestic pints, $2 well spirits and $6 margaritas.

Our thought bubbles: The Honest Weight is a solid, rich IPA but the Topanga was both our favorites — a little lighter, which is nice for a 3pm work meeting, but it's still got some hops.
