The Colts face the Titans this weekend in a game that suddenly feels "must win" as questions about who's suiting up swirl.
The big picture: The Colts (2-3) were without quarterback Anthony Richardson, running back Jonathan Taylor and center Ryan Kelly in Sunday's 37-34 loss to Jacksonville.
- Receiver Michael Pittman is also expected to miss multiple games because of a back injury.
- Healing up will be crucial for the Colts as the second half of the season starts with a barrage of first-place teams and Super Bowl picks.
Between the lines: Injuries are making what was supposed to be an easy stretch of the season much harder.
- The Colts play the Titans (1-3) and the Dolphins (2-3) in their next two games.
- Starting in Week 8, they'll have to deal with the Texans (4-1), Vikings (5-0) and Bills (3-2) in consecutive matchups.
The intrigue: The latest NFL power rankings saw the Colts drop five spots to 21st out of 32 teams after losing to the formerly winless Jaguars.
- Analysts say the loss was frustrating but not shocking considering Richardson, Taylor and Kelly were out.
- The bigger issue was the defense's inability to make key stops or put pressure on the Jags' quarterback.
- The Titans had a bye last week and held steady at No. 26 in the power rankings.
The latest: Richardson was limited in the Colts' practice on Wednesday.
- Taylor did not participate in that practice, and Kelly was a full participant.
- All three remain on the Colts' growing injury report.
Flashback: The Colts lead the all-time series with the Titans, 37-22.
- Their last meeting on Dec. 3, 2023, ended with the Colts winning 31-28 in overtime.
What's next: Kickoff is 1pm Sunday.
