Fried green tomato sandwich tastes like summer

I've got another inventive and delicious meatless meal for you and, this time, I went outside of my comfort zone — in more ways than one.

First, I got outside of downtown — a real struggle for me, especially when the weather is nice and I'm tempted to only go where I can walk or bike.

Second, I ordered something I wouldn't normally get since I'm not really a tomato girlie (don't @ me).
Believe me when I tell you that I was rewarded handsomely for that bravery!

Where to go: Moontown Brewing Co., a restaurant and brewery that opened in the old Whitestown High School gymnasium in 2018.

What to order: The fried green tomato torta.

Tart green tomato slices are coated in cornmeal and fried to tender perfection, then layered on a fluffy hoagie bun with avocado aioli, refried beans, habanero havarti cheese, pickled onion and lettuce.
It comes with a side of fries, coleslaw or salad.
