Borage Café, Bakery and Market opens in Speedway

• I heard a consistent drumbeat of "It's so cuuuuute" squeals from each person who walked in while I dined there with my husband last week.

What to order: Dinner specials vary, but the menu is very vegetable-forward.

• We started with a tofu satay ($16) that skewered crispy-outside, tender-inside cubes of fried tofu and covered them in a creamy coconut peanut sauce.
• For dinner, I had the greens, grains and garbanzo bowl ($18) topped with a lion's mane mushroom steak (+$12) that was 🤌.
• Brothy, braised kale was tossed with farro and chickpeas, drizzled with a savory almond cream sauce and finished with garlic chips and briny green olives.

💭 My thought bubble: Every bite was packed with flavor.

• Polite society was the only thing that stopped me from slurping the last dregs of broth from the gorgeous bowl it came in.

• The café is open from 8am to 2pm Tuesday-Sunday for breakfast and lunch with a weekend brunch menu. It reopens from 5-9pm for dinner Thursday-Saturday.
• The bakery and market, which sells grab-and-go foods, is open 8am to 6pm Tuesday-Saturday and 8am to 2pm Sunday.
