Boomer is the NBA's most "forgettable" mascot

Put some respect on Boomer's name! Or at least try to remember it.

What's happening: The high-flying feline that represents the Indiana Pacers has been named the most forgettable mascot in the NBA, according to a sports betting site's new survey.

What they did: Using results from the quiz website Sporcle, OLBG analyzed the recall of mascots across the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and the U.K.'s Premier League.

What they found: Only 44% of those who tried to identify mascots from a video knew Boomer.

The Detroit Pistons' Hooper and the Dallas Mavericks' Champ were the next most forgettable NBA mascots.
Chicago's Benny the Bull was the most memorable mascot in all of major league sports with 91.9% of sports fans correctly naming him.

Yes, but: Even OLBG knows this list is likely to look very different next year, stating they expect Boomer's stardom to rise after the Pacers made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Plus: Boomer is already a Hall of Famer.

He was part of the Mascot Hall of Fame's class of 2019 and is one of only seven NBA mascots among the immortalized.
