Meatless Monday: Brew Link's tofu tacos

👋 Arika here, riding high on two wins: tofu tacos and a March Madness upset.

Continuing my tour de meat-free sports bar menus, I watched last Thursday's first-round games at Brew Link Brewing.

What happened: No. 3 Kentucky, once called the "bluest of the basketball bluebloods," went down to No. 14 Oakland.

  • My bracket might be busted, but I picked that upset and thoroughly enjoyed watching it happen from my seat at Brew Link's downtown bar.
  • It's not technically a sports bar, but it's got plenty of TVs, ample seating and multiple veg-friendly meal options.

What to order: The tofu tacos ($14), which tuck spiced and fried tofu cubes into little corn tortillas with guacamole and pico. So easy. So tasty. Why aren't more restaurants doing this?!

  • Brew Link's tacos come with chips and salsa, but I can't resist a tater tot so I subbed them out ($2 extra) with no regrets.
  • The General Tso's cauliflower ($11) is listed as a shareable starter but comes served over rice, making it another good meal option.
  • Brew Link also has cauliflower "wings" ($12) and a buffalo cauliflower wrap ($13) that I will go back to try.

If you go: Brew Link has locations downtown and in Plainfield.

  • Open 11am to 10pm Monday-Thursday, 11am to 11pm Friday and Saturday and 11am to 6pm Sunday.
