The Coastal Prairie Conservancy permanently protected 2,560 acres over the past two months, bringing its total to 36,608 acres conserved across Southeast Texas.
Zoom in: In June, the Conservancy secured 2,500 acres of coastal prairie, wetlands and tidal marsh in Brazoria County, expanding the Justin Hurst Wildlife Management Area.
This week, the group added 60 acres to the Katy Prairie Preserve.
