The Houston Zoo has a new CT machine for animals in its care.
Why it matters: The machine will help the zoo's most senior animals stay ahead of health problems while minimizing invasive procedures.
The intrigue: Florence, a 13-foot, six-inch senior anaconda at the Houston Zoo, recently received a CT scan performed by veterinarians as part of her routine wellness checks.
The results showed Florence, at 21 years old, is healthy and is outlasting the lifespan for anacondas in the wild.
