Houston's theater companies are unveiling their lineups for next season — a mix of classics, experimental works, comedies and dramas.
Why it matters: Season announcements double as a sales push, helping theaters secure subscribers and steady revenue ahead of the fall, while giving audiences a way to lock in tickets and preferred seating.
The big picture: Houston is among the country's busiest theater hubs, with major institutions and smaller companies staging productions year-round.
Here's a preview of what's on deck for the upcoming season, which starts in the fall:

- Stages' 2026–27 season has a mix of recognizable titles plus character-driven plays.
- The season opens with the Houston-produced debut of "Come From Away," followed by "The Roommate," "The Mountaintop," "Silent Sky" and "Latin History for Morons." Musicals like "Once on This Island" and a holiday run of "The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical" round out the lineup.
