Greater Houston was largely spared from icy perils this weekend, though freezing temperatures will again set in Monday and Tuesday.
Why it matters: With the cold sticking around a little while longer, officials are urging people to continue staying home and off the roadways through at least this evening.
Driving the news: Temperatures will rise to the upper 30s in the Houston metro by Monday afternoon and drop to the mid-20s again overnight, National Weather Service forecasters say.
That means any water still on the roadways could thaw during the day but refreeze overnight, making any driving dangerous.
