Rockets and Astros debut first direct-to-consumer streaming app

How it works: SCHN+ costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year.

• The app includes all SCHN programming — live games, behind-the-scenes features and on-demand content.

What they're saying: "The SCHN+ streaming app makes it easier than ever to cheer on the Rockets," Patrick Fertitta, alternate governor of the Rockets, said in the announcement.

• "Providing fans options on how they view our games is important as we continue to grow the game, and we want to make it accessible to as large an audience as possible," said Jim Crane, owner and chairman of MLB's Astros.

For out-of-market Houston fans (viewers outside Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and parts of New Mexico), NBA League Pass and MLB.TV remain the streaming choices.
