👋 Shafaq here! I had some delicious savory and sweet empanadas this week and wanted to share.
Dig in: Argentina Cafe Empanada Factory, a small spot tucked into a strip center near Upper Kirby, has been open since 2017. It serves empanadas and other quick bites, all made with Argentine spices.
My experience: I tried several baked empanadas (all around $3.80) with a friend, and all were delicious. Each had a perfectly crisp and flaky crust and warm, flavorful filling. My favorite, which I'm craving as I'm writing this, is the cheese and onion.
As for the dessert empanadas, the host said the dulce de leche with walnuts and the nutella with strawberry and banana are customer favorites — we tried both, but the dulce de leche was the winner.
