Houston's own Megan Thee Stallion just won The Trevor Project's 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year award.
Why it matters: The award recognizes public figures who use their platforms to fight stigma and advocate for LGBTQ+ youth.
Past honorees include Dua Lipa, Dylan Mulvaney, Janelle Monáe and Lil Nas X.
Zoom in: Through her Pete & Thomas Foundation and BadBitchesHaveBadDaysToo.com, the three-time Grammy-winner pushes for inclusive mental health care and resources — especially for marginalized communities, The Trevor Project notes.
Her nonprofit supports education, housing, health and wellness programs in Houston and beyond — while her free resource website connects people with therapy directories and crisis hotlines
What she's saying: "Mental health impacts all of us, so it's important to lead with love and empathy," she said in the announcement statement.
