Attending an Astros away game might be the move

Driving the news: Across MLB, seeing a baseball game in Toronto is the cheapest option for travelers, according to research by sports betting data and analysis site Action Network.

• The Astros travel to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays Sept. 9–11.
• Resale tickets to the weekday series start at $11.

By the numbers: A two-night stay at an Airbnb in Toronto averages $248, while the average game-day ticket is $87, according to the analysis.

• The cheapest meals at the ballpark cost about $18, and fans can expect to pay under $6 for a beer.
• It costs $8 to park near the stadium and almost $2.50 per ride to take public transit.

The intrigue: Scott Schroder, a third-generation Houston baseball fan, lives in California and frequently travels to see the Astros.

• He started traveling to away games during the fallout of the 2017 cheating scandal as fans nationwide rained boos on Houston players during away games.
• Since then, he's made himself a name among Astros fans online — and sometimes on TV.

Schroder tells Axios there are a few things to consider when traveling to support the team:

• Stay in a fun part of town. "You're going to spend a lot more time in the neighborhood around your hotel than you are in the neighborhood around the ballpark," Schroder says.
• Be a respectful guest. "But if people are booing or being dumb and the Astros do something good, then be extra loud," he says.
• If you want to cheer with fellow Astros fans, pick tickets on the first level behind the away-team dugout.
