Houston to host 6 Gold Cup matches, including the final

The CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament kicked off over the weekend to crown the best men's national team in North America, Central America and the Caribbean — with the final match in Houston.

Why it matters: The three-week tournament will give several U.S. and Canadian cities a preview of what it'll be like to host next year's World Cup.

Shell Energy Stadium is hosting five matches starting Thursday.
The Gold Cup final will be July 6 at NRG Stadium.

Driving the news: The first Houston match, between Trinidad and Tobago and Haiti, is 5:45pm Thursday.

On Saturday, Shell Stadium will host Canada vs. Curaçao at 6pm, followed by Honduras vs. El Salvador at 9pm.
Then on June 24, Guatemala faces Guadeloupe at 6pm and Canada takes on El Salvador at 9pm.

How to watch: The Gold Cup tournament will air on FS1 in English and TUDN and ViX in Spanish.
