Dig in: The family-owned spot in Montrose opened about a year ago and serves dumplings, noodles and Szechuan favorites in a cozy space with plenty of seating inside and out.
My experience: I first went about nine months ago and was charmed by the sweet hospitality and solid food. I've been thinking about returning ever since — and finally did recently.
The endearing woman at the front, part of the family, remembered me from my visit. And the food was just as good as I remembered, with a homemade quality that shines.
What to order: Crystal dumplings ($13) were flavorful and perfectly soft and crispy. The hot and sour soup ($8) tasted fresh and well-balanced.
The mapo tofu ($13), which was recommended by the host, was one of the better mapo tofus I've had.
